“Unrest”
After a poem by Kathleen Raine
I have no form
I am boundless
I have no rest.
I am sleeping beauty
Lying awake at night.
I am tiredness
I am the escaping pleasures
That are unsympathetic.
I am flashes of lightening
That keep me awake.
I am twisted bedsheets
I am the unused pillow
I am unrest.
I am sleep itself
Slowly twisting its way
Out of my grasp.
